Music Roundup: Muzu; Universal-RTL

Muzu: Irish video-sharing site Muzu has partnered with online ad sales house eType to step up its display and video-ad revenues. The deal covers the main Muzu.tv site as well as videos distributed on sites in Muzu’s distribution network. Muzu shows music labels’ videos on a 50-percent revenue-sharing basis and allows users to make their own playlists. Release.

Universal-RTL: Big-four music label Universal Music has signed an online content deal with German broadcaster RTL to show music videos on its UGC platform Clipfish.de. The deal covers “several thousand clips” featuring the likes of U2 and Metallica. Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG) recently signed a similar deal with RTL’s rival broadcaster to show clips on its UGC site MyVideo. From Hollywoodreporter.com.
