Naspers Acquires Hungarian Auction Site Vatera.hu

Naspers, the South African media and online giant, is continuing its international expansion and as part of that, has bought Vatera.hu, the Hungarian online auction website. Vatera.hu was established in the year 2000, and will remain a separate brand, though will be part of Naspers’ MIH Internet Europe group, which operates in the segments of electronic media, pay TV, the Internet, IM and other technology sectors. MIH Europe already owns other auction sites such as allegro.pl (Poland) and ricardo.ch (Switzerland), Aukro (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic), and QXL (Denmark, Norway) as well as online portals such as Gadu-Gadu (Poland) or mail.ru (Russia). More details in the release.
