imageEastern European e-commerce group MIH Allegro has announced an offer to buy Wasaw-listed Polish finance site Bankier.pl in a deal potentially worth $19.3 million (£11.8 million). The site provides news, analysis and a price-comparison shopping service. It would be a natural fit—if successful, Allegro, which is owned by South African publisher Naspers, will set about integrating the site with its existing e-commerce platform in Poland. One major shareholder in Bankier has already agreed to give up a 18.4 percent stake, but Allegro needs 100 percent acceptance for the deal to go through. Allegro has been active in the M&A market of late: in May, it bought a 51 percent stake in Ukrainian e-commerce site UAProm.net, and in October, it bought Hungarian auction site Vatera.hu. Release.
