It’s something of a no-brainer. Nationally, Telegraph Media Group and Guardian News & Media integrated have already integrated their daily, Sunday and website operations over the last couple of years. The move will replace the current, and somewhat old-fashioned websites, with a new site, HeraldScotland (promo here), in the next few weeks, AllmediaScotland.com says: “Yesterday, staff were informed of the proposal, with the papers’ editor-in-chief, Donald Martin, referring - in at least one of a number of his presentations - to a recent quote from News Corp’s chief executive, Rupert Murdoch (here), that newspapers should charge for online content. However, it’s understood he stopped well short of saying that’s what he has in mind for heraldscotland.com.”
