imageLSE-listed educational publisher and Financial Times owner Pearson (NYSE: PSO) is moving into the online B2C education sector with the launch of an English-language learning site, in partnership with Seattle-based language community Livemocha (via Reuters.com). The pair will launch a series of paid-for conversational English courses from August in a revenue-sharing agreement, aimed at Livemocha’s user base of two million users across 12 languages. Livemocha’s community has grown through free langauage lessons and there’s no word yet on what users will pay to work on their English pronunciation come August. Pearson has invested heavily in online learning in schools and colleges in recent years through its Pearson Digital Learning division.
