Social games publisher and developer Playfish has raised $17 million (£10.8 million) in a second round of funding led by Accel Partners and Index Ventures. The London-based start up plans to use the money to continue growing its offering. The company says it currently has more than 10 million monthly active users, and that four out of its five games are on Facebook’s top-10 games list. It also participates in Google’s AdSense for Games, which lets it generate revenue from ads. Kevin Comolli, from Accel Partners and Ben Holmes from Index Ventures, both join its board of directors.
