imageArchant: Privately-owned regional newspaper group Archant is making at least 20 staff redundant at its main office in Ipswich, home of the Ipswich Evening Star and the East Anglian Daily Times and a series of magazines. Archant Suffolk MD Stuart McCreery says in a memo to staff: “The outlook is not positive…it is clear that we cannot continue to operate with the same cost base.” The company is also shutting half of its London offices in a bid to cut costs, with staff based at Swiss Cottage, Harlesden, Hornsey, East Ham, Romford and Dagenham due to be relocated. MEN Media: Guardian Media Group-owned Manchester Evening News publisher has shut its in-house motoring sales team, making 10 staff redundant. The team’s responsibilities will be handled by the company’s 150 sales staff, led by sales director Alistaire Jama who began his new role yesterday. From Media Week. Daily Record: Trinity Mirror’s Scottish red-top Daily Record has launched its own car classified ads site RoadRecord.co.uk.
