MySpace is tapping its Spain and Portgual GM Christopher Moser as its new UK MD, replacing Anthony Lukom, MediaWeek says. The company says it is unable to comment. It’s thought Lukom is no longer with the company.

Moser will preside over a much smaller MySpace - the company is shedding 300 of its 450 staff outside the US and halting the international expansion that began in 2006 and has taken it to 21 European territories alone, though London, Berlin and Sydney will be used as international hubs.

Moser’s Spanish site is being outsourced to News Corp (NYSE: NWS) stablemate Fox International Channels, along with those of Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Poland, Mexico and Turkey, but there was no mention of Portugal.

International SVP Travis Katz is leaving but will be replaced by Europe and Australia GM Rebekah Horne. Marketing and content SVP Jamie Kantrowitz has returned to New York and founding Europe VP Jay Stevens has moved on to Project Rubicon.

Moser rose up through AOL’s European Bertelsmann JV 10 years ago to be a marketing exec with Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG, before joining MySpace in the Spain-Portugal role in August ‘08.
