Reuters Mobile Journalism Roundtable: Rolling Out The MoJo, Planning For HD Mobiles
Our sister site paidContent:UK reports on Reuters’ (NSDQ: RTRSY) implementation of a “mobile journalism toolkit” developed in partnership with Nokia. The first trials were with TV reporters shooting video for the web; now a print journalist will cover the arrival of UK’s Tesco chain in the U.S., filing to the wire from LA and Las Vegas using the handset and a Bluetooth keyboard. Our UK editor Robert Andrews has the details about Reuters’ efforts to complement traditional coverage.

Well summarized, especially regarding the ‘complementary’ aspect to it. Although, they also said that of video-journalists. A lot of them have replaced professional cameramen by now. And editors? What about them? As a multimedia journalist myself it sometimes reminds me of that cheesy Tom Cruise line:
You… Complete… Me.
And you obviously is the Nokia N95, not Renee Zellweger. Alas.

A mobile is a mobile is a mobile :)
I dont think mobiles can replace the shorthand and other stuff normal journalists use .
It will take sometime for sure to see how the results are :)
