Roy Of The Rovers Gets Off The Bench As Mobile Comic

Now that’s what I call a long tail. Roy Of The Rovers, the boy’s comic strip about a wholesome footballer that started in 1954, is being added to the line-up of ROK Comics, the ROK Entertainment unit that offers short comic strips on mobile phones. Rok has worked with Roy’s publisher Egmont to get the strip, which has also been running on Setanta Sports’ website since October. Roy started in ‘54 in the Tiger magazine and eventually graduated to a regular slot in the Today newspaper. Rok also has Garfield and Doonesbury. Release
