Atlas-funded secondary ticket exchange Seatwave is buying Dutch equivalent Skelper (which sounds suspiciously like “scalper”) for an undisclosed amount. Ticket resale is illegal in Holland unless through an official channel like Skelper has arrangements with Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, FC Groningen and others. For Seatwave, it’s part of an international expansion that will see it use Skelper to create a Netherlands division of its own. The two Skelper founders join that division Seatwave’s board as directors. Seatwave is also backed by Mangrove, Holtzbrinck and Fidelity and is well-funded, recently finalising $25 million for a third round alone. The site had opened up in Germany, Holland, Spain and Italy late last year and it’s been steadily adding more primary ticketing relationships.
