Sports gaming business Sportech is another digital business to go against the grain in these investment-shy times with the acquisition of football gaming website 4thegame.com from Manchester-based Fast Web Media for £600,000. 4thegame.com, with about 700,000 monthly unique users, will provide content for Sportech’s stable of sports properties and as somewhere to cross-sell against its other football games. Sportech owns the online rights to the New Football Pools betting system, based on predicting the outcome of several top-flight matches, and runs the recently relaunched www.footballpools.com which will also get content from 4thegame.com. Fast Web Media will continue to provide operational support. Release.
