Swedish Video Ad Overlayer VideoPlaza Gets £335,300 Funding
Online video advertising startup VideoPlaza has received a €420,000 seed investment from Creandum plus angels Henrik Torstensson and Magnus Hultman to launch outside of its native Sweden. Sweden is seeing amongst the biggest of explosions in online advertising, gobbling up one of the biggest shares of media spend. Founded in August 2007 with CEO Sorosh Tavakoli, VideoPlaza’s offering is to embed overlay banner ads in Flash and Silverlight videos. VideoPlaza has just three clients - Sweden’s number-three pay-TV station Kanal 5’s website plus two other other Swedish players who signed on recently but are not named in the release.
