Team Europe Ventures Readies €6 Million For Startup Investments

Team Europe Ventures - the quartet of investors who backed StudiVZ and Amiando - is keeping the fire burning for early-stage digital ventures by announcing it is making a €6 million new seed fund to back German and European companies over the next three years.

They plan to issue up to €500,000 per recipient, about four or five investments per year. But the team, whose partners also work on their own startups, may invest some of the money in those projects.

The Berlin-based team consists of Spreadshirt founder and StudiVZ co-founder Lukasz Gadowski (pictured), Spreadshirt ex-staffer Kolja Hebenstreit, Pawel Chudzinski and Steffen Hoellinger.

They say there’s a “gap” between the kinds of digital investments now being targeted by larger venture capital firms and angel consortia, which they say suffer because individual consortia members rarely take personal responsibility for portfolio companies.

Announcement.
