Technology Marketplace Smartfundit.com Gets £3.5 million VC Funding
In the first significant investment in a UK start-up in several weeks, finance technology marketplace Smartfundit.com, which has offices in the UK and San Francisco, has raised £3.5 million of funding in a round led by European VC firm BayTech Venture Capital. Describing itself as an “online finance exchange” Smartfundit allows business to buy or software vendors to sell finance technology tools. It claims to have generated $1 billion in finance requests since its launch in the UK in 2006. Jude Ngu’Ewodo, a partner at BayTech, joins the company’s board as part of the deal. Release.
