Tributes For Future’s Digital Commercial Director Danny Ward-Lee

imageFuture Publishing’s digital commercial director Danny Ward-Lee died at his home in London last week, age 38. He joined Future in 2007 after six years with News International, where he was digital advertising manager for Times Online and, later, the wider news group. Before that, he was a long-time online strategist at The Telegraph

Future COO Simon Wear: “Danny was creative, hard-working and extremely talented. In the past two years he had helped Future to establish one of the most entrepreneurial and successful digital sales teams in the industry.” Ward-Lee’s team won the digital sales team award at the Association of Online Publishers’ 2008 award ceremony, which credited its “innovative use of ad formats, great execution and good revenues” and said it “put digital strategy at the heart of their business”.
