UK Music Mag NME Launches WAP Site
IPC Media has launched an off-portal WAP site for its UK music magazine NME. Accessed by sending an SMS to a shortcode the site will offer live news updates, rock photography including exclusive wallpapers, music blogs and micro-sites on music festivals. It will also have realtones and over one million songs available as full-track downloads to handsets and PCs—which I assume is how the mag plans to generate revenue from the site. It signed Saffron Digital to develop the site. (release)
