United Business Media Mulling Redundancies
The “severe downturn” in the construction industry has hit B2B magazine publisher United Business Media (LSE: UBM), prompting redundancy talks with staff in its built environment division that could see 47 employees go. Guardian.co.uk reports that the cuts will come from Building, Property Week, and architecture magazine BD as the company looks to reduce costs. The built environment unit was formerly part of the division known as CMP Information. In July, the company was restructured into five different units, with former CMP Information CEO Gary Hughes, departing after his position was made redundant.
