Web-Based IM Service eBuddy Raises €6.5 Million Second Round
Amsterdam-based eBuddy, an online IM startup, has raised a €6.5 million second round led by Prime Technology Ventures, reports GigaOM. The company previously raised €4.9 million from Lowland Capital Partners in 2006, bringing its total haul to €11.4 million. Like Meebo, the service allows users to log onto an IM service (MSN, AIM, etc.) using a web interface. In addition to its online platform, it also offers a mobile client. The service is ad-supported and has previously claimed to be profitable.
