Industry Moves: Wragg To EMI Music; Will Head Digital Worldwide

EMI continues to remake its digital strategy ... Barney Wragg, formerly SVP-Universal eLabs, is the new head of digital for EMI Music worldwide. The job includes developing and leading the implementation of EMI’s digital strategy. He’ll be responsible for EMI’s relationships with key digital service providers, implementing “best digital practice” as EMI weaves digital throughout its businesses, and making sure that EMI is taking full advantage of new digital trends and emerging business models. Based in London, he’ll report to Alain Levy, chairman and CEO, and David Munns, vice chairman.
At UMG, Wragg’s responsibilities included Live 8 digital downloads, the U2/Apple campaign and the digital release of early Rolling Stones. Prior to that, he was audio business development manager at Advanced RISC Machines. He got his start as a music promoter in England. Release.
