Lycos Europe, which is an independent company separate from Lycos anywhere else, has bought out German online shopping technology firm Mentasys, for about $38 million. Mentasys’ technology for online guided selling solutions will be combined with LE’s existing international shopping solution platform Pangora, the company said.
In another transaction, Lycos Europe has divested the online portal portion of its Swedish subsidiary Spray to the media company Aller Svenska AB for about $20.15 million in cash. It is still in negotiations to sell its ISP business.
