(via A:C Euro) London-based Ricall, which runs an online platform for music research and clearing licensing rights, has received an undisclosed amount from Benchmark Capital’s European fund. The money raised will be used to expand Ricall’s commercial music user network, market the brand and develop the company’s technology.
The company’s service is used to get music for ads, films, TV programmes, promos, video games and corporate productions. The company says it has music archives totalling more than 3 million tracks and and encompasses every hit to have charted in the UK since 1952, and the US Hot 100 since 1954.
