ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, Germany’s largest commercial TV broadcaster, has bought a 30 percent stake in MyVideo.de, a German video sharing site started in April. The price wasn’t disclosed. It also has an option to buy the outstanding 70 percent in the future.
MyVideo’s German site gets about 2 million downloads per day and about 1,800 new videos are added every day, the company said. Some more details in the release here.
FT: MyVideo Broadband is registered in Romania, but the money behind it is largely German. The main backers as internet entrepreneurs Oliver and Alexander Samwer (founders of mobile content service Jamba, which they sold to Verisign), the story says.
