Universal Music U.K. has sealed a deal with mobile music technology provider Groove Mobile to build and operate an off-portal mobile music shop allowing users – regardless of their mobile operator – to purchase and download full tracks by texting to an SMS short code. Users will receive links to download the tracks directly to their mobile phones.
The Universal Music U.K. Music Store will feature full track music downloads from the Universal Music catalog of artists, including Scissor Sisters, the Killers, Mika, James Morrison and Keane. Groove Mobile already powers the 3MusicStore and the Orange Music Player. Press Release
